Social Networking

Social networking is one important part of book marketing today. In fact, for some books, it is the most important part. No book will sell itself in the beginning. You must sell your own book, which means finding readers.

Social networking isn't simply joining a lot of groups and leaving your book information for whoever may find it. No! It is a proactive approach to meeting people and inviting them into some portion of your life, making them want whatever you are selling. They call this friendship selling in some circles. Whatever it is called, it works.

Some great social networking locations are:
~ Myspace, overused but not always properly
~ Shoutlife, for Christians and Christian material
~ Ning, a large group of various networks
~ Twitter, for speed
